So I have a Steam Deck OLED, but the majority of titles I want to play (first person shooter, sports) aren't compatible with the Steam Deck.

With that said, I would like a device I can play AAA title games but also dock to the TV. I know the Steam Machine is underpowered and overpriced, but if I could get my hands on one, I would get it. I've also thought about just buying a PS5 for the living room to play all the games my Steam Deck can't. That's still an option. I just want to be able to play AAA games seamlessly.

Does anyone here have the Lenovo Legion Go 2 or the Xbox ROG Ally X and can comment on the performance?

ETA: I know both run Steam OS, which is a plus, but curious if they will run all Steam OS games.

I would just get a PS5. I have a steamdeck too and the only time I hook it up to the TV is when I'm playing retro or Indy games. Some modern AAA games look and play really well on the small screen, but not so much on a larger TV screen. It just can't play those games well at higher resolutions.

If you are in the Austin area I have a 1 year old PS5 slim (disc less) that I'm going to sell pretty soon. I bought a PS5 Pro before the price increases hit so I need to do something with the other one.

I'm in the DFW area. I've also considered a PS5 Pro, but would want to take advantage of the visuals. What tv are you using to make it worth the pro (other than the performance)?

We have a PS5 and Xbox Series X upstairs, but the boys have taken ownership. With the Steam Deck, PS Portal, and the other consoles upstairs, I think PS5/Pro might be what I go with. I can remote login to my son's Xbox with the Steam Deck if I want, but I prefer the PS exclusives.

I have an LG CX OLED... It's 4 or 5 years old now. I believe the C5 is the current model.

I'm honestly not sure if there are better options now... I haven't researched TVs since then because that TV is flipping awesome. Amazing picture quality and the VRR and response time is perfect for gaming.

I own a steam deck and wanted to be able to play games on my TV rather than on the deck or my rig. Once I saw the Steam Machine prices, I just bought a 30ft HDMI cable and a steam controller and run the HDMI to my desktop when I want to game on the couch. I like my steam deck but personally don't trust a lot of the other handheld gaming PCs, such an expensive hardware line.

Do you have to adjust the settings when you dock the Steam Deck? I tried Uncharted and Spiderman, but they were both almost unplayable. They work flawlessly in handheld mode. I have the Valve dock, not some cheap Amazon dock.

I haven't done it enough to give any specific pointers, but I can say that it's not exactly a plug and play experience going to a TV.

I've had to tinker with audio and resolution settings pretty much every time I try. I think I experimented with one AAA game once and the results weren't great. It looked and played fine on the handheld, but trying to bump the resolution just a bit on the big screen was not kind to game performance.

PC nerd here. I also have a ps5 and a psportal that is fantastic for travel or playing in different rooms

My youngest son has the PS5 in his room upstairs. I have the PS Portal and the cloud streaming is great. Streaming directly to the PS5 hasn't been the best experience.

Ended up buying a PS5 Pro yesterday. They are sold out just about everywhere. They had two left at Nebraska Furniture Mart and they wouldn't hold one for me since it was on the floor. Got there about an hour later and got the last one.

Now its time to upgrade the 75" Vizio we have had since 2019.
