Weird Activity on My Netflix

About 6 weeks ago I stayed at a hotel in Brownsville and logged into my Netflix which was supposed to automatically log out of my account at checkout. A few days after I was watching at home and noticed a new profile named Juan added and I deleted it and forgot about it assuming it was whomever checked in after me.

About two weeks ago I log into Netflix at home and go to my profile and in the Continue Watching feed there are about 20 different Korean movies and shows and my profile was set to Korean language. I went into settings and logged out of all devices then changed the password and had no more issues until today. I get home from work and log in and there are all of those Korean shows again. I called Netflix support and they looked into my account and said it hasn't been compromised and suggested someone in my house is using my profile. We have 5 profiles and no one says they used mine and we have no one that speaks Korean.

What could be up? This is freaking me out.

It's pretty obvious your wife's boyfriend is Korean.

Sounds like your account was compromised. May be related to the hotel or might not. Happened to me a few years ago and if I'm remembering correctly (debatable with my late 40s brain) slightly changing the password only temporarily helped. Ultimately I changed my login email and password.

At the end of the day I'm not sure how these aholes get your info, but fortunately it was just to log in and watch Netflix.

Buy an Amazon Fire stick and set all your streaming services up on it. Take that when you travel and insert into HDMI port in the tv.

Yeah at some point I logged into my Netflix and it was all anime movies.

I didn't really care but was a little creeped but figured whatever and just kinda let it be.

Eventually I reset my password because it was screwing up all my suggested and keep watching things.

Did feel weirdly like my personal space had been violated. Even though I was also laughing at someone just stealing a Netflix password for how cheap it is.

Just cancel your account and create a new one with a different email address.

I had this issue and it turned out to be my FIL. He got the password from my wife when she visited because they were watching a movie on his living room tv. He told her the only way was to enter and save it into his laptop.

You can go to your account on the website and see the location of who is watching what shows. Makes it obvious if it's your wife or your FIL (or your Korean poltergeist).

I'd also recommend a travel router like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D41G5N95 . Makes things much easier if you tend to have a bunch of stuff you want to get on WiFi and you don't want to mess with the hotel portal on every one of them, and the devices out there that can't do a portal for wifi.

Still here. Changed my password again and keep checking my watch history and haven't seen any Korean shows since. Upon further review for a few days someone was watching Korean soap opera love story shows and movies but the language dubbing on the shows was set to Spanish so I'm looking for a Hispanic lady with a Korean fetish as my hacking suspect.

WTF?

I have been home all day today and checked my watch history a few hours ago when I last posted on this thread. I just logged in again and see this.

I checked all logged in devices and nothing strange. Kids aren't home and not watching on their phones. Wife has been in the study working all day not watching TV.

I'm getting seriously pissed.

You didn't buy one of those cheap STBs from Walmart did you? They were all res proxy and some were selling access to your accounts.

Somewhat related issue …

Sometimes I'll be using my Roku at my house (Roku stick in main tv, Roku tv in garage) and in two cases I've seen my Roku go rogue while I was watching, go to Home Screen, and add a foreign language channel to start watching while I'm using the Roku. I'm wondering if it's a next door neighbor whose Roku remote is getting mixed with my account somehow?

I have no idea how it's happening. I've logged out, changed passwords, logged back in, and it still happens occasionally. Any ideas?

That sounds like an exploit of some sort on the Roku side.

Let's look at this way, guys. If you were on your phone and all of a sudden the language changed, wouldn't you freak?

You should be able to tell it to log out everywhere after the password change
