Pixel phone automatically turns down my volume

I've always had Pixel phones and loved them, but the newest version has the most annoying feature ever...it turns down the volume all the way when it thinks I've had it up too long. Even when I'm driving, which seems much more dangerous than tinnitus. There is no way to opt out of this, and I've tried the developer mode workarounds posted online but those don't work for me.
Has anyone here dealt with this problem and found a way to stop it? (Besides switching phones, although I will definitely switch in the future if Google doesn't fix this!)

You used to just disable absolute volume control in developer settings and it stopped it but they removed that option in a recent patch this year the *******s.

WHY? For a phone that lets you change even the tiniest, most seemingly inconsequential options, why do they force this horrible crap on us?

I have a Pixel 7a but only so I can use GrapheneOS. I had been considering upgrading so I can get 256GB of storage. I wonder if this would remain in effect on a new phone even if Graphene was installed.

I just upgraded to a 10a to run graphene, have not run across this situation yet. The downside is that the Texas 42 app no longer works. It worked with a warning on my previous phone, a 6a running graphene, but no more

For the OP, your AI overlords know best. If you find their helpfulness objectionable, then you are the problem. You'd do well to get in line unless you want your access revoked.

How do I put this feature on other people's phones when out in public and enable it immediately?
