I'm looking for a new game.
I just finished the latest assassins creed.
I typically like the far cry, rdr2, metal gear, last of us, Witcher, gta
Single player, long storyline etc.

I typically prefer guns and bombs over swords and spells. But either is fine.

What are some other good single player games I should check out?

We have very similar tastes in games. Horizon should be right up your alley. Both 1 and 2 are great and you can put a ton of time into them.

Star Wars Outlaws.

It is not perfect, but imo it is MUCH better than the reviews.

Don't be a pansy, play Bloodborne.

Or go with an easier intro into the style and play Elden Ring.

ETA: I'm on my playthrough of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and it's been spectacular. As far as questlines and narrative, I don't think i've experienced a game that comes close since The Witcher 3.

I am fairly new to my PS5 but have bought quite a few games. I'm 12% through Ghost of Tsushima and really like it so far.

Ahh... that's a bummer. I'm really glad I played the first one. Getting to experience Henry's journey from a peasant and meeting the cast of characters along the way sure does make much of the second one feel so much more rewarding.

Obviously not required, but it makes all the character reveals so much better.

I posted this on your other thread: play the Uncharted series. You won't regret it.

The Sniper Elite games give off strong MGS vibes if you are into stealth action. Also scores extra points from me because you get to kill Nazis. The gameplay can get monotonous if you let it, but if you intentionally vary how you are playing a bit and take advantage of the environment and some of the gadgets they give you, you can have a really fun time with them.

I also enjoyed Deathloop quite a bit but it's basically reskinned Dishonored style gameplay, so your feelings on Dishonored would likely carry over to this game.

Seconded. I knocked out the Nathan Drake Collection (remastered editions of the first 3 game) and Uncharted 4 in a couple of months. The original Uncharted was fun, but Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is incredible. One of my favorite games of all time, and the third and fourth games are right up there in quality.

I'd tank them 4, 2, 3 then 1, and 1 is really dang good.

I played 2 first and the opening scene just blew me away.

Do the story lines build on each other or can you play them out of order?

There are references to previous events and character relationships from game to game, but these games can 100% be played independently without much narrative loss. Think about them as Indiana Jones or James Bond movies.

I personally wouldn't play them out of order. They are stand alone stories, but there is a core set of main characters that are (mostly) a through line between the games. Their interactions and relationships build off of each other throughout the story, so you would be missing something there. The gameplay also gets better throughout the series, so going from a newer one to an older one may be rougher than if you just played the older ones first.

I absolutely agree with this. The only reason I played 2 first is -- that's the one I bought. It was highly acclaimed at the time. I didn't feel like I was missing out -- but as soon as I finished 2, I had to go back and play 1.

Play them in order. I just ranked them by how much I liked each. That being said -- that order with me can change as the winds blow. They are all that good.

is a ps5 pro worth it right now or wait for more titles?

That depends what kind of gamer you are. Do you want the absolute best performance and visuals on modern games, and okay with spending $600 to do so? Then yes.

If you are okay with lower graphics/resolution or 30FPS, and don't have the money for a PS5 Pro, then no.

I'm glad I have my PS5 Pro so I can play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 at the best graphics and FPS, for console.
