What do you recommend for maximum comfort that can be switched between left and right hand.

I guess I could buy one each ergonomic for left and right hand.

Thoughts?

If you're in houston or Dallas go to microcenter and try them out first to see if they work for you...

I use a logitech G-pro wireless. It can be switched back and forth, including the side buttons.

I have always used Logitech. As for comfort for you, you need to try some. We all have different hands. I don't think it's possible to design an ergonomic mouse for both your right and left hands. Why do you need to move it from one hand to the other?

I use this one and like it.
Don't know if it is ambidextrous.

I've spend hundreds trying to find a new mouse for a lefty. I just don't like any of them. So I stick with the good old reliable Logitech B100 for $8 on Amazon.

I have periodically switched my mousing hand over the years for ergo comfort reasons. Obviously depends on your hand size and shape, but I have a Logitech M325 that works well for me on both sides. It's smallish, and I find it comfortable.

I set the right mouse button as my primary click button, so I use my middle finger on my right hand for primary click and pointer finger on my left hand for primary. That helps me to switch back and forth between hands easily without having to change mouse settings.

I tend to default to my dominant hand for heavy mousing activities and try to switch to my off hand for other things. I find that this helps reduce the overall stress on my dominant hand/arm.

After trying tons of them as a designer as well as some tablets and other options, Logitech MX Master 3S is it for me. Solid build, fits the hand well, as customizable as you want it to be.

But that's not an ambidextrous mouse.

This is the mouse I use as well! Additionally, I like the ease of jumping between Windows and MAC computers.

Fair point, missed that. Unfortunately the better mice aren't going to be.

It's hard to go wrong with Logitech in my opinion.

I think the trickiest thing is finding a true ambidextrous mouse. Most of the more advanced ones are going to be either left or right handed unless you start looking at a wired gaming mouse. I've never used one so I couldn't help you there.

I currently use a Logitech MX Anywhere 3S mouse. It's pretty close to ambidextrous with the one exception being two slim forward and back buttons on the left edge. Other than those two buttons, it's a mirror image. I just switched it to my left hand and I don't think it would bother me but you may not like it.

I actually use the 2S but the only difference is that the current model uses USB C to charge and mine uses micro USB. Overall I think it's a great mouse. \

-There are 6 buttons all customizable:
  • Left Click
  • Right Click
  • Two Side buttons
  • Clickable Scroll Wheel
  • Button below the scroll wheel
-You can firmly press the scroll wheel to switch from smooth scrolling to a more clicky experience
-Very fast and smooth scrolling
-Bluetooth is standard but you can also buy a usb recevier
-works on any surface, even my whiteboard glass desk
-Compatible with Windows, Mac, ChromeOS, Linux, Ipads, basically anything.
-Charging port is out of the front so it can can still be used when charging
-You can remember 3 different devices. I have mine set to my desktop, laptop, and work laptop.

The only downside is that it cannot be converted to a wired mouse. So if you plug it in via a USB cable it will only charge and not transmit info. I also purchased the logibolt receiver so I can easily plug into an computer when I travel to my company's home office in NYC
