I have an Xbox Series X and consistently have issues with my controller(s) disconnecting and re-connecting while playing games. It only disconnects for a few seconds. I have made sure the controller(s) firmware is up to date. Have tried multiple controllers and get the same problem. Also, when it disconnects I can still hit the X and get back to the home screen menu. Any suggestions to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Is it with multiple games or one specific game?

I had an issue with a game where the controller Rumble would not work no matter what I tried. It was only this 1 game that had the problem. I eventually uninstalled and re-installed the game. It was very strange and even though it appeared to be a hardware issue, it was definitely a software glitch causing the problem.

My only thought for you is similar... I would guess it's a software issue and not faulty hardware. Re-installing games and/or making sure it has the latest updates is a good start. I know a lot of games also cache certain settings, options, etc. You can look it up online, but there are ways to clear out those cache's... that might help you as well.

And, even though I know it's a pain, I would do a full wipe and fresh reboot of the console if nothing else seems to work. You'd have to re-download all your games, etc, but it is another step that would be worth trying. But definitely try easier things first and give it a bit of time. My annoying issue mentioned above did go away after a week or two.

Good luck and definitely try some of these things before considering anything with the hardware. Even if you sent in the console for repair you'd probably get a "no issues found" / "could not replicate the problem" report.

Any chance your wireless router is close to your Xbox? I used to have huge issues with my wireless headset before moving the router. Not sure if controllers could have the same interference issue.
