So we bought a house that already has an alarm.com compatible security system. We have fiber internet and selected Surety for monitoring. There are 3 outdoor cameras, ADC-VC836, cameras. I figured out how to connect them to our account by removing and connecting directly to our router. The problem is the ethernet (PoE) that is run to the cameras is not on our network, so they don't work when reinstalled outside.

I've never installed an alarm system, so hoping someone can provide some help on what I need to do or look for. I'm assuming there is some sort of hub that these ethernet cables plug into providing power and connection to the network. Is that accurate? How should the cables connect to our internet?

We're concerned the painters cut the ethernet cables.

Pretty much any network switch with POE+ ports. Plug your POE switch into one of the LAN ports on your modem/router, and you're ready to go. It's all going to be unmanaged, so it's plug and play.

I would recommend POE+ for the total number of POE ports you need, so you don't run into power allotment issues, if there are multiple cameras.

Would that switch possibly be in the attic? I think the painters cut the cables connecting them to the router?? Is that possible? Would the switch be in the atttic?

It's possible. This is what a switch looks like, though they come in all shapes and sizes:
