Didn't find and older post on this although I know it's out there somewhere.
I have a Netgear 97000. It's about 5 years old or more. It is set up in the upstairs office but I get low to nil service in the garage which is 80 feet away and through two rock walls and doors. Before I upgrade my router, possibly get the same result, what are the proven choices for WiFi boosters that you guys are using? Thanks!

I use a mesh system. The main hub is in my office, and I have two satellites placed evenly throughout the house. Works perfectly

I use the Netgear Orbi system, but I believe there are others that people like as well.

I've been using that for about 3 years, but when I switched I also researched boosters and they seem very hit or miss as to whether people like them.

A mesh system will cost you more up front, but I think it will provide a better long term solution.

Yeah, everybody here is going to recommend a mesh system. I'm currently using the Deco brand and it's awesome.

3,000 sq ft single story house and I get a great signal everywhere inside and outside. Plus I get the benefit of hardwiring devices at the nodes. I have 3 nodes.

If you dont want to do mesh (it really is the best for seamless network experience), your best bet to keep your old system will be to do a powerline ethernet kit to an access point near your desired location. Your going to spend about most of what you would at a minimum of what it would cost to just upgrade to mesh for a working but not the best solution.

Powerline kit $75: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powerline-Wi-Fi-Extender-TL-WPA7617KIT/dp/B09L85MFNY

I'd get a new modem and router, depending on how fast each is.

Both of mine were old and slow. Got an Arris surfboard and an Asus router. I get a great signal everywhere in my 1.5 acre yard now.

Indeed. Since I switched to the eero mesh system a couple years ago, I've had no issues with range or speed.
