Where did they get 8 strikes from, why not 7 or 3?

How will it be reported is the real question. Can I just report anyone who is actively kicking my ass in multiplayer on any given day.

Exactly. Will there be a verification process for the infractions? People spam report just because they got beat.

Look, I'm not saying it's right, but part of the experience of Xbox live multiplayer imo is the fact that you will eventually get called a racial or homophobic slur by a 10 year old kid who had to ask his mom to buy the game for him. I can understand Microsoft wanting to discourage that, but the trash talk is part of the experience.

Like the smack allowed in basketball versus what's allowed in golf.

I think the best way to prevent both tech censorship and graphic inappropriate language by young kids is to monitor their activities and get them socially involved in something not requiring an internet connection and/or electricity.

People forget how bad the online chats were when Halo first came out, or the original COD. Wild Wild west was tame compared to those accent times. You didn't have an epic LAN party, unless the cops were called, because some neighbor though there was domestic abuse. Multi player on Half Life 2, is the reason for my screen name.
