How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hey everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy and I am trying to change my ringer to a song that I enjoy but did not realize how much of a pain in the a## it is.

How do I download a song and use it for a ringer? What app do I use? I have Youtube music, Amazon music, Skype etc but can not figure how to download the song and turn it to a ringer.

Any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

You should be able to USB your phone to your PC and find the ringtone folder. You can drop any sound file in there and it should show up as an option in your settings.

For downloading: I don't know about the others, but for youtube, find the song you want and navigate to it using an alternate front end like invidious that has download capability.

Yeah, unfortunately Samsungs ringtone settings allow you to choose a song in your storage, but you can only start playing from the beginning or a random spot in the song. Aside from that, you would need an app or a tool to take snip of a song you like and do what coconutED said.

Thank you both for replying!

I was hoping to do it without connecting it to a computer. Is there an app I can buy and download a song, then move it to my ring folder? Ive tried a few apps but after I download a song its not able to be used/or found when trying to add a ringer.

Thanks again!

If the audio file is not too big, email it yourself, check your email on your phone, save the attachment and use an app like Total Commander to move it from the download folder to your ringtone folder. The Android folder structure can take some poking around to find what you are looking for.

If you need to clip the audio file down on your computer something like Audacity will work and is pretty easy to use.

There is an app called Zedge that I use for ring tones and notification sounds. You can search for pretty much anything on it and download for free (ad supported).

This thread gave me flashbacks to 2006 loading songs as ringtones on my Moto Krzr.

Its just crazy, this day in age, that its this difficult to manage a custom ringtone. Samsung has messed up on this.

Completely agree. I should be able to easily make a ringtone out of any song I have saved on my phone, and with a snip from anywhere in the song itself. It can't be that hard.
