Has anyone done this? Is it worth it since I don't play games or edit videos?
I'm in the minority but I like 11 a lot, probably because I liked 10 and it's more or less the same thing with a fresh coat of paint from what I can tell. But I'm also a gamer with a 12th gen Intel processor which is one of the few known components to get an actual performance boost from 11.TAMU-93 said:
I've been running Windows 11 problem free since last year. 10 and 11 aren't much different. There's nothing from 10 that I miss, nor anything from Windows 11 that I can't live without.
The switch was worth it to me because I work in tech. I should be familiar with these things. But I'm not upgrading any of my clients just for the sake of upgrading.
Exact same. I hate WIN11 since I daily compare the two between work and home.FatZilla said:
NOPE, 11 sucks complete donkey nuts. Stay on 10. My work pc is awful to use now. You gain nothing switching to 11 and will only lose features present in 10.
I haven't used Win11 a lot, but this is kind of my feeling also. Using Win11 feels very similar to Win10, but now all the menus that i'm used to are changed and i don't know where to find anything.Eliminatus said:
I am also stuck in my ways and know Win10 very well and don't want to relearn yet another WIN OS. So I will never recommend it to a casual home user that is already on WIN10.
Also won't let you shift the task bar to the sides of the screen or top. I always keep mine on the left side and hidden. It is still possible by editing the registry but MS purposely left it out.Kaa98 said:
Windows 11 won't let you have tabs for your open windows at the bottom of the screen...unless I've completely overlooked something. This is my biggest complaint.
I don't have the access needed for this. But thanksFatZilla said:
See my post above for fixes to atleast the tabs item. Not sure on moving the bar since mine is on bottom.
Edit: just checked, it allows you to move the bar location too.

My desktop is just old enough that it won't upgrade to W10 while my laptop is W11. I have zero issues floating back and forth.

Has anybody here bothered with a work-around to install Win11 on "incompatible" hardware? My personal desktop has an i7-7700k, but the 8th gen intel processors are the oldest ones officially supported in Win11.
I know you can do some registry edits to bypass those hardware checks, just curious if anyone has done it and if they've run into any issues.
