How long do you want to ignore this user?
First off, I'm looking for a video on how to create a certain function in a Google Spreadsheet but I don't even know how to search the issue. So maybe one of you guys can help.

I'm having students sign up for track using a Google Forms.

1. I have a destination sheet that has all the names and grade levels of those that sign up.
2. I've created two separate pages that filters all 7th graders to one roster and 8th grade to a separate roster. These rosters will have every 7th and 8th grader that has signed up for track.
3. I then have a Track Meet Participation sheet for each grade level that uses data validation to create drop-down menus in each event from the 7th and 8th-grade roster.

Here is the next step I would like to take:
1. I'd like to be able to then create a Meet Roster sheet from the names that are populated on the Track Meet Participation sheet.
2. If possible, I'd also like to be able to not duplicate any names on the Meet Roster sheet.

If you know of a video on Youtube I'd be appreciative of the link or even if you can tell me what I need to type in the search to find what I'm looking for.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

use the QUERY function if you have some knowledge of SQL it should be easy. If all you are doing is producing a Meet Roster list of names attending a Meet, this sounds easy. Can you share your sheet or at least a copy/sample so I can see what you have so far.

Here is a simple explainer:

ok, I see what you are doing now. Your Event sheet has multiple events within it and it is organized in such a way where getting what you want is certainly doable but tedious. I think you have the Event sheet the way it is so you can see everything on one screen. I *think* it would make your life managing this data easier if your meet sheet was more tabular. I have some ideas I want to try tonight. until then, I made a copy of what you sent and you can see on the tab entitled "Using Query()", how I accomplished the same thing you did for your Roster sheets.

some might see that as the same thing/no different, but it's easier in my head and might give you some other ideas...I see where you are headed with this though.

BTW - what is H/L and NP on your Event sheet mean?
