They are in a dispute over money. ABC wanted more and dish said no. They timed it for the red river rivalry which was inconvenient. Had to stream through the espn app but whatever. Now it is getting old. At least give us money if you aren't going to give us the channels we pay for.

It's not ABC, it's the deal with the company that owns the local affiliates. In Waco, it's the NBC affiliate. In other areas, it's CBS.

Thanks. This makes more sense as my brother in San Antonio said it was CBS. Seems odd that all of these affiliates are doing the same thing at the same time. Maybe their contracts all expire around the same time?

They're doing it all at the same time because the beef is between Tegna (parent company of all the affected stations) and Dish. The individual stations are pretty much helpless here... just getting sucked into it by their leadership.
