I bought an open box 6 series TCL tv, however it did not have a remote. Bestbuy employee said I could just buy the standard Roku remote and it would work.

Fast forward I'm at home, turn the TV on and it's on the "Let's get started" screen to set the TV up. The problem is the Roku remote can not advance the options and is just blinking green.

When I Google what options I have they all say use the all and control it that way however I can not advance the screens to add it to my network. I have a Pixel 4 so I do not have an IR blaster.

What can I do?

There are no buttons on the side or back of the screen to change the input to your roku?

Correct. I got it to work via an old Harmony remote I randomly had.

It can not connect to Wifi or the remote after setting up the TV.
Appears the MAC address is 00:00:00:00:00:00 and when this happens this means its a faulty board.

Im calling TCL tomorrow to see how they warranty open box items.

Take off the batter cover and there is a pairing button that you need to hold for 3 seconds. Extremely easy. I have 4 of these TVs.

Which replacement remote did you buy? Roku has either IR or RF remotes for different devices. The TCL TVs typically use IR remotes, which should just work out of the box and don't need to be paired. I don't think they even have any kind of pairing button actually. I bought a cheapo off of Amazon and it worked right away.

I do believe it's possible to pair the RF remotes also, but i've never tried it myself. And i've read that not all of the features work (power, voice control, headphones, etc.)
