Isn't he the one that does Warhammer figures? Pretty sure that's far nerdier than building a PC.

He missed the call from synder to become the next superman because he was in the middle of a raid on WoW.

ROFL at having to take it apart to flip the heat sink!

Well... I have to get Cavill props for being a fellow nerd. I approve.

This got me thinking... what nerdy thing makes one the biggest of nerds?

I never got into the table top scene when I was younger nor have i ever played Dungeons and Dragons or Magic the gathering (though I've always wanted to try Dungeons and Dragons).

My nerdiness was always wrapped up in fantasy novels and video games. Guess I don't have the stongest of nerd cards...

I have read the Lord of the Rings, multiple times, as well as the Silmarillion!

Get back us after you've read the entire Malazon book of the fallen series....at least twice.

First of all, Tolkien transcends all that.

Then I'd figure on the scale of nerd

Larp>Magic>rpg>table top>Board game>pc/console

Did I miss one?

I fit just about all those.

But no matter what flavor of nerd you are, gamer, book reader, Warhammer, even larpers....we can all point and laugh at the damned weeaboo freaks.

Yes, you left out the weebs. And miniature wargamers are a genre unto themselves too. Don't forget cosplayers too

Malazan compared to the Silmariliion? No no...

Malazan may be a long series, but the Silmarillion is a history text book about a fantasy world, lol.

I could not combine PC and console. I would always rank PC gamers as more nerdy than console gamers. I agree with the rest of what you posted, though; I completely forgot about larpers.

Does it count as LARP if one goes to work and pretends to be a normal person? Asking for a friend...

Where does Magic Arena (or other MtG computer based) rank?

Do Bronies and k-pop fans count as nerds, or are they on a different spectrum? What's the difference between table top and board games?

I don't fit any of those categories, I used to play video games, but they can't keep my attention now, partially because overtime I've started to suck at them. The only thing I can play now with any degree of proficiency are platformers. Fortunately things like Super Meat Boy/Celeste are challenging enough to keep your attention, but instant retry enough to not make you feel like an idiot for not getting it on the first go.

Whooole different spectrum.

I will concede pc/console differentiation.

I meant table top war games by table top.

I remember growing up that as long as I don't play D&d I won't be a huge nerd. Now I love D&d and now I think as long as I don't go LARPing

There's also probably a distinction to be made between D&D and miniatures, but not sure how/where to draw that line

Kind of glad I never got into any of the D&D, Magic, Larping, Miniatures, etc. As an adult with a disposable income, I would spend way to much money on those things.

I for years have stuck to nerdy video games and books but never transcended into the DnD threshold. Last year a few friends did get me into doing the online version with roll 20.

Never played Magic or anything like that. Those kids were next level in high school.
