Any recommendations for an app that is iphone and android for security camera monitoring?

We installed a GW Security system last fall and it worked fine until the past few days.

The app now says our cameras are offline. They're working as I can access directly at the NVR.

We've been using RXCamView. RXCamView is no longer in the app store. I'm hoping the issue is their app lost support, killing our feed, and not that my NVR or network has an issue.

I don't think it is network related since Ring works (assuming Ring goes out of the network to get back in for notifications/feeds).

I use the Amcrest app for an Amcrest NVR. It's a bit buggy but it works.

Interesting. Took a quick look at the Amcrest App. Looks to have the same bones but a different skin than my Q-See NVR's App. Guessing that means that Amcrest and Q-See are just re-branded Dahua Cameras and NVRs.

I use Blue Iris. There's a demo version that has all the capabilities but prints Blue Iris Demo across the screen in small letters. It usually goes on sale often, so don't pay full price. Not sure how it would work with your system but I really like it for all my IP cameras.

Another vote for Blue Iris. Very good software for IP camera monitoring.

I had Blue Iris before Amcrest. I was running a desktop as my NVR hence the need for Blue iris. Not sure if Blue Iris app will connect with 3rd party NVR's.

You should check on whether it will work with your NVR for sure. I know I bought Blue Iris from Amcrest, so maybe it will work.

Will do, thanks all. When I look at their website it calls for a windows based pc.

There are dozens of apps in the store - I could just start trying them but the last thing I need is to get hacked due to a security app.

IP Cam Viewer - they have a lite and a pro version. My favorite feature is that it lets you export your settings so you can share them between devices.

Closing this loop. My wife reminded me I haven't fixed the cameras yet. It wasn't my app - I had a network cable die. Took a bit to figure that out - its in a static area with no movement, was physically secured to prevent movement if I were to monkey w/the AV rack.

Glad my dumb ass figured it out and glad that years ago I bought a lot of cat6 cables on monoprice so I had one handy.
