Is this a decent budget TV?

Coming to the all knowing Nerdery to get some feedback.

A lot of the garages in our neighborhood have a room on the back of them that are about 10' deep and the width of a large 2 car garage. The previous owners finished the room with insulation, AC, etc, and we decided to turn it into a workout room. So, we're looking at putting a TV out there (get wifi) and want something decent but not break the bank. I've found this TCL at Costco and the reviews seem to be pretty good.

This board seems to have a pretty positive view of TCLs and wanted to know if anyone has this particular model and their thoughts? This will primarily be for my wife to stream her rides (bought a spin bike from a gym that was closing) and for me to stream music or watch the news while I lift, but will occasionally be brought to the back patio during the fall to watch some football games when the weather is nice.

I've had several TCL Roku TVs and love them.

The only ones I've ever had an issue with were 2 that I bought about 5 years ago when they first came out and they work fine, they're just a bit slower with app startup (i.e. Netflix takes time to actually load up and drop you into the account list).

The ones I've bought in the last year are fantastic - I actually have the 55 inch version of the one you linked, I believe, and it is awesome.

If you're a video/audio geek they're probably not for you, but if you want something functional, with built in future proofing due to the Roku, I can't recommend them enough.

Great secondary TV.

I'm even using a leftover office budget TCL as my main TV since my Samsung plasma finally crapped out and I've been paralyzed by analysis on a new display for 6 months. The easy menu access to NFLX and youtube is great.

Appreciate the responses. I may brave the wild and venture to Costco today to grab one.

I went from an LG 55" 4K smart tv to a 65" TCL Roku 4K tv. Bought it for $399 on Black Friday. Hell of a deal, and not sorry I made it. Only wish I would have done it sooner. The built in Roku is slick, and the picture is great. I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars to get the ultimate tv (I'm lolpoor), but this was a great value.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

i've used hisense, insignia, and tcl and been happy. an extra few hundred for a tiny bit clearer picture is just not a priority

our 60 inch hisense has been fantastic.

Damn. Not sure I want a 55" for back there, but the price difference isn't much. I have been trying to get my wife to let me get a 65" for the living room so we can put our current 55" into the formal, so...

Well, don't tell her about the 55". Show her the 65", comparing it to other brands, noting how great the picture is and how much cheaper it is than other brands. Hype up what a great value it is, and how she'll be able to watch all the sappy shows (my wife loves Hallmark Channel.. blah) she likes.

When I got my 65", it went in the "Man" room, and the 55" went in the living room.

Our formal living room is the kid's TV area with some old ass plasma that weighs a ton. I really want to get a new TV for the living room since our 55" "shrunk" when we decided to put it over the fireplace so our furniture could be set up differently in the living room (opened it up a lot). For my primary TV, I really want something really good. For a secondary one, my requirements aren't as much.

I bought a TCL for my parents for Christmas last year, it's been great. The only problem they had was figuring out the volume buttons were on the side of the remote. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Welp, went to Costco and picked up the 43" for out there. Going to buy a swivel mount off of Amazon and hopefully put it up this weekend.
