How long do you want to ignore this user?
Need some help.

Got a friend with a lake house that wants WiFi at the pier. Pier is about 200 feet from house. Pier has power.

What would be best?

I am thinking of one of those Ethernet over power adapters like this one

https://www.amazon.com/PLA5405v2-Powerline-Gigabit-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B0783QH1BH/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?camp=1789&creative=9325&hvadid=77859217611439&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvqmt=e&keywords=powerline+adapter+ethernet&linkCode=ur2&linkId=OMBRYAX56M45VB35&qid=1564167045&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

We would require to WiFi routers. One at house and one at pier plus the power adapter.

Is there something better?

Also, is there a range limit on one of those adapters?

Does the electricity to the pier run through the electrical boxes in the house? If so, it might work. I would't bother, though.

If the view is clear, my suggestion would be to run an ethernet cable to the side of house and mount an outdoor access point.

switch <--> poe <--> ethernet cable <--> outdoor ap

There are some access points that can use both the 2.4 Ghz band and the 5 Ghz bands.

If it were me, I'd just bury a cable between the house and the pier. You just have to keep the end to end length on the network to under 100 meters.

Look up ghostbridge. Works great for us. You'll need a router or some kind of access point at the pier end too.

I looked it up. It appears to be an indoor unit.

The results would likely be disappointing.
