Any opinion on "Toughdog" security systems cameras and NVR?

They're proposing the TDNVR8P8K-2T base and TDOEIS4502A cameras.

Building a new home that we pre-wired for POE cameras, all networking equipment going to a central closet, etc.

The wiring company provided a proposal for various pieces of a/v, security, and home automation equipment. This is one of several things I'll be asking about.

A quick google search makes me think these are dedicated installer only products, and I couldn't find much in the way of reviews.

They're not cheap (IMO). Almost $2500 for 7 cameras and the NVR, w/the home already pre-wired.

Seems very high to me unless you have some really hard to access camera locations.

Camera looks like a private label version of this Dahua model that can be had on Amazon for $62.99.

NVR doesn't seem like anything special either. These little Chinese NVRs are fine for throwing the cameras onto a TV but see how easy it is to export a video file off of it. My experience was that it can be done but it's a real pain. I upgraded to a PC running Blue Iris NVR software and love it. I can pull up a page on my home network from any device and see all the cameras and recent motion clips.

I just installed GW Security camera system in two houses and like them. Might check those out, 8mp cameras with varifocal lenses for less money.

I just recently purchased a Reolink POE NVR system from Amazon and installed it last weekend. It's exceeding my expectations thus far and was super simple to install. I already had drops run from my network room to my crawl space but had to run lines from there to the cameras.

With the kit, 2 additional 5MP cameras, rg6 cable, and POE switch I've invested $600. The software and app are very easy to use.
