75-inch Samsung QLED or 65in LG-OLED?

Quick thoughts on TV, impulse bought the QLED because it was bigger but wondering if I should go with the OLED since I haven't picked it up yet. Pricing difference is negligible. Standard-sized living room in a town-home. Just watch sports, some movies, and random television. Current 10yr old LG LED has been great, just looking to upgrade.

If the price difference doesn't bother you go OLED, but if you're a gamer (particularly XBOX One) and want to save some $$ QLED is a nice TV.

How bright is your room? QLED has superior brightness for rooms with a lot of light. OLED has better contrast.

I am looking at the higher end for both options, just trying to determine if the bigger size is better vs the OLED. I would go OLED if both were 65.

I would consider the room to be more dark than light,

I have an OLED, I really like it. I'd probably opt for the larger size. I downgraded from a 70" to the 65" and the size change was worth it, but a 10" difference is substantially different.

LG oled screens are the same across all levels, so going to a lower level with bigger screen could work for you

Depends on how far you are sitting from the screen. It's all about the viewing angle.

I had the same issue 6 months back, ended up getting the Samsung 70" Q8 over the LG60" OLED and couldn't be happier. I paired that with the Samsung Atmos capable HW-N950 soundbar and have a great setup for how shallow our living room is.

QLED is a gimmick IMO, you are still just buying a normal LCD/LED tv with slight enhancements. Its directly trying to fool the uninformed in the market into thinking its the same quality as OLED. OLED is the real deal for the best quality picture.

The main takeaway is that QLED is closer to regular old LCD than it is to OLED, which I (and most other experts) consider a distinctly different class of television, much like plasma was before it.

QLED. The difference in screen isn't anywhere near as noticeable as the difference in size. If you get the smaller size you'll regret it

I'd go with 75". I upgraded from an old 42 to a 65 and now I wish I went even bigger.

Just to close this out, ended up going back and getting the LG 65in C8 OLED and very happy, crazy unbelievable picture. Just felt the technology was a little better, the 65in is already in upgrade from the previous 55in, fits my living room well, and kept with the LG that I have been very happy with. Was able to keep my existing TV stand as well bc of the LG stand footprint. Ultimately felt like I couldn't go wrong either way.

Got a new reciever as well, the root cause of upgrading the TV, now just gotta re-program and integrate everything.

Thanks for all of the help!

Think you made the right choice. OLED is the real deal.
