How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've read a few articles, and I see the way to suspend the locker requirement...I'm not sure why this started, but I want to be sure I'm not screwing up any security protocol by taking this off my startup procedure.

Am I ok doing this?

Basically, Bitlocker detected some sort of hardware change (or you have a USB device plugged in at boot). Just tell Bitlocker to accept the change:

Within an elevated command prompt:
Quote:

manage-bde -protectors -disable c:
manage-bde -protectors -enable c:

Man, I feel like my dad now asking computer questions...

So, go to command function thing and just type that in with the spaces?

OK, help with this again....

In between trying to get the command promt going, I just clicked on a search for bitlocker. I disabled it.

Now when I try to enable it, I get this.

I am the administrator...so not sure if I messed up by not following the instructions from pnut or I'm missing something else. At the end of the day how vulnerable is my computer without the bitlock?

bitlocker is essentially protecting you if you lose your PC or someone removes the hard drive from your PC. It is not a 'vulnerability' protection agent like Win Defender, or something of the like.

I've noticed mine pops occasionally when I plug in/out new USB devices and then my laptop goes into sleep/hibernate and I awaken it say at home with other stuff connected to it. My IT guys say it happens to a lot of people for just unknown reasons or reasons they just don't worry about since as long as you have your bitlocker key you are fine.

So, I have my bitlocker key. I just don't have it turned on. Sounds like I don't need to worry about it since I don't see my laptop getting its hard drive removed...but would like to know how to turn it back on. Sounds like it doesn't matter.
