I am responsible for recording my kid's marching band performances at every game and contest. In past years the show has fit "on screen" of my iPhone, but the band has grown and this show they are spread out from 15 to 15 at a couple places in the show. I tried one of the clip on lens but it was a cheap one and didn't work well. I am willing to spend some money to get a high quality solution. Has anyone done something similar?

Back up a few feet and film it horizontally. Your camera will capture them all pretty easily with a little distance.

If it were me I'd just go buy a GoPro 4 or something and do it that way. They can be had for ~$100 used or refurbished.

Check out Iographer.com. They have a wide angle lens and setup for iPhones.

Tha school doesn't have AV classes?

The AV kids are busy recording the football team. We have a bunch of AV kids in band too but they are marching.

One of the band directors bought this, so we're good now.
