We need a way to send files to be printed in production - at times, from my laptop, while out of the office.

Basically, we need a fax machine, I suppose, but that doesn't seem to exist all that much, these days.

It could be done, though, perhaps via ooma, etc.

I use Google cloud print for my remote printing needs. Super easy set up and works from cell phone as well. Only down side is you have to log in with a google account so if you have multiple users it could get messy (plus it's probably not be intended for commercial use). I don't print anything confidential so I haven't looked into the security of it too in depth.

Setup a VPN where printer is. Fairly easy.

Get a Raspberry PI and use PIVPN.

PIVPN

Then all printing can be controlled by the certificates.

Or use an HP printer and remote print by e-mail.

We have an HP printer at home that has its own email address and it works well.
Just email the document to that address and it immediately prints

Not sure if its the same, or if you are using, a commercial sized printer
