How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have an older Macbook. Has worked fine until just a while ago. I opened it and the mouse/trackpad would respond, but I couldn't click on anything. I plugged in a mouse and the same thing took place: the cursor would move, but can't click. Googled for answers and nothing has worked. Any ideas?

This happened to me once. Was a major pain in the butt.

Power it off and back on. Problem should be fixed.

YA...wouldn't have posted on here if I hadn't already tried that, and removing the battery, and Apping the PRAM, and resetting SCM.

Fixed. IN case anoyone else is having the same problem, all that I needed to do was hold down the trackpad at all four corners with uniform pressure for about 10 seconds. Weird fix, but it worked.

For me if was the battery started to swell. Replaced battery and it worked

Figured so. Weird about having to hold the 4 corners down. How old is it?
