For those who dropped cable and switched to Sling TV, how is it working for you so far?

Working a lot better after their last updates. Apps on Xbox and Roku are much more smooth and less buffering as well. Use my Sling account to get WatchESPN access too, which is awesome.

There were some complaints on the other Sling thread about problems with events that drew a high number of viewers (March Madness).

Have any of you Sling users viewed an event with high viewership recently, like an NBA playoff game?

I am planning on waiting until CFB starts to try it out, but only if I hear that the kinks are worked out.

I really want to like this idea, but the last I saw you could only stream one channel at a time. It would be a no brainer for me to get if I could have at least 2 streams going at once.

I still may do it depending on what Comcast does to my rates in the fall.

We got a three month subscription because we basically got a Roku stick for free. Honestly not sure if its worth it. If you could stream on two devices at once, I'd say yes.

Some of the channels do let you rewind or watch previous episodes, which is nice. Its nice to be able to watch ESPN without being a pirate.

I used my free trial over a month ago... was VERY poor on Xbox One. Watching the NBA playoffs was painful at times with it lagging to the point where I had to shut it down and restart the app multiple times during a game. Definitely needed improvement so glad to hear that there have been patches made to the app.

I still won't be trusting it during football season. I'll go back on a somewhat basic cable sports package so I can enjoy 1st world privileges of a reliable HD signal with a DVR!

Is there any solution out there that would let you DVR programs on Sling TV? Namely if I can't get to an Aggie football game in time, can I start from the beginning or is it only live TV?

I did the free trial and wasn't impressed. Cancelled my service and gave up on it.

A month later they offered me a free Amazon Fire Stick with a three month subscription and my wife really wanted to want NBA playoffs. They've updated the apps several times on both the Roku and XB1 and it's running alot more smoothly now than it was two months ago. We've had no issues watching playoff games (second round on) as well as other streamed content.

Those of you talking about streaming two channels at once - you can, sort of. If you use your Sling login on WatchESPN, then you can use that service in addition to whatever your watching on SlingTV. Not exactly what you were probably meaning, but still nice.

I did my trial during the NBA playoffs. It streamed pretty well but the quality was definitely better with my directv.

Funny thing is the same week A&M had a baseball game and I watched just through the WatchEspn app and not sling. The quality of that game was just about perfect HD. I like the idea of saving money outside a satellite contract. But it's hard giving up the reliability of a quality picture.

I got the deal with $50 off a roku3 when you get 3 months of slingtv. The NBA playoffs were generally pretty good, there were some games early on where it would freeze up, and I'd have to quit the app and get back in to get the feed back. I've watched several other things on there and it is generally pretty good.

At this point, the quality has not been good enough for me to risk football season with just the slingtv. I'll check back in here to see how it goes for others
