I have a few questions that I could test out, but before spending any money I thought I would check here:

For digital copies of movies that have been purchased on Amazon, can you stream them on your device using the Amazon Instant Video app? Can you also download the movie within the app for viewing off a data network? I'm trying to decide if I want to split my digital copies (most currently in iTunes) and want to weigh the options of splitting them up.

Yes and Yes, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

We purchased Frozen via Amazon (DVD and digital copy) and I can watch it on any device I have (computers, Roku 3, iPhone, iPad, etc) by going to my video library in the app.

We had a rehersal dinner a few weeks ago and knew our daughters would get restless so I downloaded Frozen (inside the Amazon app on my iPad) so they could watch it while at the rehersal - my iPad has no internet connection.

You can also do this with rentals. I had a flight a few weeks ago and had my wife's kindle with me and the night before the flight I rented a movie and downloaded it so I could watch it on the flight without having to pay for the WIFI (plus, they disable some streaming sites and I wasn't sure if Amazon was one or not)

Only thing I can't say is whether or not it will let you download free content (through Amazon Prime) for offline mode.

That's exactly what I was looking for.

Bums me out that I used my kid's Frozen digital version on Apple now. It would be nice if she could stream movies when she has access to the internet and I could still download the movies when we would be on the road.

I've done the same thing with some movies. The digital key is only good for one streaming site. I got something recently don't recall which, where I could redeem either on Flixster or Google Play. I didn't read carefully and was just going to add it to both, thinking that it would be available for both because they're both ultraviolet members. Not so, you can choose only 1, so after activating on flixster I couldn't do the same for google play

One thing you can do is rip the DVD to mp4 and keep your own DRM-free copy. This is not illegal anymore, since a 2010 federal court ruling

Yes, that's the one downside. It would be nice to have it in multiple places.

It's been a while since I ripped stuff from DVDs (probably 2007/8) and I found it too time consuming but I bet it's better now with the right program.

Hopefully Disney releases the Disney Movies Anywhere app for Android in the near future so it won't matter where you redeemed your Frozen copy.

For $2 you can add the DVDs you already own to your vudu digital library.

Forgot about Disney Anywhere, so she is covered on her iPad.

And that's nice on the Vudu service. I'll have to look more into that for some of my older movies that didn't come with a digital copy.
