I know.......Why would anyone be using AOL mail??

You'd have to ask my wife that question. This is her problem.

She has no problem getting in on her ipad, my ipad, or my PC. BUT.......

On her laptop, she can log onto AOL.com, but when she tries to access her email she gets this message: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." and can go not farther.

Any suggestions?

Check the computer's system time. Do you get the security certificate error JUST on AOL or on other sites such as banking too?

If I'm not mistaken there should be an option to "Continue to this website." You can then install the certificate. I've also heard of this issue occurring if your system time is wrong.

JUST AOL, apparently. We've successfully gone to other websites, including our bank's.

Try logging in on her Macintosh.

Burn her emails to laser disc and import to hotmail.

I need some more info on the system. What kind of computer is it? What browser are you using? Also, 56k or 33.6 modem?

Have you heard about Prodigy? It's a new service that will allow you to use a home computer to look up news, weather, and also access online "bulletin boards".

I lol that cdub makes a joke as I still have a legacy email with aol. It was hijacked and when I told him I was deleting it, he said no, because it was cool to have email from 1995...

Now I haven't sent or received an email with it in 10+ years, but hey, I too have an aol account.

I keep an AOL email account and use it for SPAM and all those sites that make you give them an email address.

I have a couple of AOL Mail accounts. I don't use them much, but the interface isn't much different than other free web mail providers.

Are you sure she didn't run out of hours?

I still have a CompuServe acct. AOL took them over years ago but didn't change the name.

AOL does a decent job of filtering out spam. If you use it for email on your smart phone or tablet you don't have to wade through its overhead (Huffpost, celebrity news, etc). Old email addresses make pretty good addresses to use when you have to provide one but don't want to give our your preferred email address, so I have kept all of my old ones, including AOL.
