anybody here into digital painting? if so, i want a cintiq, but they are expensive. any alternatives?

There's a company called Yinova that's making a Cintiq-type display that's been getting pretty solid reviews and they're a good bit cheaper (I believe the 19" is around $500). Thorough review here, you can find the tablets themselves on Amazon and other places pretty readily.

Also, if you're not in a rush you might hold off as this bit of info from Wacom last week sounds darn interesting:
