How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm fairly new to Mac but looking like this isn't possible. I need to multi-select 10-100 rows in a table using control + clicking the mouse in a browser. The problem is Apple insists on ctrl + click bringing up the menu that right click now does. Anyone have a solution? I'm looking at needing to make over 3000 clicks and having that menu come up every time is a pain.

in what environment are you having to do this? can you assign a different key such as command for this task?

It's in salesforce.com, don't think I can assign another key.

On a Mac cmd usually lets you select multiple items.

Not the case here.

shift is the universal key for selecting large amounts of items or rows in succession. I'm assuming this doesn't work? why on earth would control be chosen for this task

Shift does what it is suppose to. It selects large blocks and control selects lines not together. So select works greats line 5-15 but need control to select 5,8,13,15.

so control click is doing exactly what you want it to do, but the menu popping up is a nuisance each time, correct?

What happens if you use Cmd (apple key) instead of control? I know you said it didn't work but am curious.

Just acts like a regular click.

What if you change your trackpad settings so that you use two fingers to bring up the right-click menu instead?

I'll see if they can do anything, but since it's not software and instead a web app I think it's too universal. I went to see how Google Docs handled it but couldn't get that type of select in a spreadsheet (you can in Excel).

I think Apple's going to have to make a few changes to accommodate the move away from software and into the cloud. In searching for a solution there were a lot of different requests like this for things using various Adobe products and a few other things.

What about my trackpad suggestion? I thought that would disable any ctrl click menu behavior.

Best solution.

Track pad did not work.

But, I'm an idiot and as I almost finished realized instead of multi-selecting and click Add I could just double click them....
