There's an app by Zoodles called "Kids Mode" which works well.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zoodles.kidmodeYou create a profile for each kid, and you can enable/disable apps for them through the parent dashboard. Based on their age it will enable some, you can change this easily enough through the dashboard. The app includes a simple Paint type program, some videos, books. There is stuff to purchase through there also, but the kids can't do this, when they try to play something that costs money it will send you an email saying they are interested in it. I get weekly reports of what they're spending their time on while using it. To exit, it requires you to draw a "Z". My oldest is 7 and can do this, but she stays in the kids mode where I've made everything available to her. The weekly report also includes any drawings they've done so it's neat to see what they work on. My 7 and 6 year old are getting pretty good at the games and stuff, my 3 year old is able to use it easily, spends most of here time watching videos and drawing pictures
Highly recommend, there is also a paid version which I haven't tried out. My kids get about 2-4 hours a week playing on it, and they love it. There are a ton of games and apps out there for kids, and through the Kids Mode app you can enable/disable them, and see what your kids are working on/playing.
