How long do you want to ignore this user?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good cloud server/host company?

I'm a novice when it comes to command lines, so need an option that's fairly easy to use. Looked into Rackspace with their managed hosting and they were a little pricy for me.

Would be using it for a database program that requires 2 gigs of RAM, a few gigs of storage... for 2 users.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It might make sense if you're a novice to just rent a Windows server on a colo somewhere (Rackspace), not the cheapest option. You might want to look at things like Amazon EC2 where you really only pay what the processing power you use, but it will be a bit more of a learning curve.

Dropbox uses EC2.

You didn't say if you need linux or windows, but here is a site dedicated to low cost Virtual Private Servers (VPS)

http://www.lowendbox.com

I have a VPS with a company called URPad.net in Dallas that has 40 gig hard drive, 1 Gig ram with 1.5 burst, 500 gig bandwidth for $6 / month for Ubuntu linux.

No idea what Windows would cost.

I would guess for a cheap windows host with 1 gig ram about $29-39 a month or 2 gig Ram $49-69 per month.

If you have a linux host it would be anywhere from $5-6 to $30 month depending on RAM, processor, & hard drive space.
