Does anyone know of a cheap ir repeater that works with u-verse. I got one off of monoprice but later discovered that it doesn't use the same protocol (RC-MM) as the u-verse box.

You can buy an RF remote for UVERSE. That may be a better option.

Mine works well.

I have the same as PooDoo and it did work pretty good with uverse.

Uverse has an I pad app with built in wifi remote. Not sure if this will help you, but fwiw.
