How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am a Windows guy, but trying to help a friend remotely set up his new Airport Extreme. The problem is, he walks through it and ends up with a LAN subnet of 10.0.1.0/24. There is a bunch of other stuff on his network with static IPs in the 192.168.1.0/24 range that would be a nightmare to reconfigure, so I need to figure out how to change the LAN subnet on the Airport.

In reading the Docs, it appears there is supposed to be an "Advanced options" button in the Airport utility, but he swears he has the latest version of it, and that button doesn't exist. Help a brother out here - please give me simple, foolproof instructions so I can talk this guy through it...

TIA!!!!

DHCP?

DHCP has nothing to do with it. The WAN side is PPPOE with a static IP address and it is working fine. I just want the Local side of the router to be on the 192.168.1.x subnet. Currently it is 10.0.1.x. How do I change this with the Apple utility? Or, does the Airport have a web configuration interface, where for example I could go to http://10.0.1.1 and log in and change it? I didn't think to try that yesterday because he was so insistent that the Apple utility was the only way.

Frustrating.

Is the airport the only router? Or is it just an AP to a higher router?

It's the only one. But he has a couple of Motorola point-to-point dishes and a bunch of equipment in another building that are all on the 192.168.1.x subnet, and it has been years since I messed with that stuff...don't want to go through the hassle of changing all that stuff.

This is really easy on a Netgear or Linksys or whatever router - just log into the web interface and change the LAN subnet and save changes...then release/renew or reboot all your devices to grab a new IP address. Surely there is a way to do it on the Airport?
