Notice I didn't call it "softcore" mode. So some of you know my dislike for hardcore mode, but I know there are some/several Texag guys that like Hardcore. We've had some small in-game discussions, but it's hard to have lengthy debates in between gun shots. I have my 2 cents to add along with a bit of new info I just found about the game:
New Info: So aparently if you shoot an usupressed weapon in BF3 you will briefly show up as a red (enemy) dot on the minimap (just like in COD - link below). I say this is a good add to the series and gives more strategy to the game based on weapon loadouts. This guy also talks about how 3D spotting is really improved among other goodies.

So in light of this and the fact that the mini-map is such a tactical tool I don't see why hardcore is so popular. I want to know where my teammates are... I want to know when I have some heavy vehicals coming up the road to support me. W/out the minimap I don't feel like there is any strategy. I want to be able to anaylze the situation quickly and figure out if I need to push forward or hold tight. It's nice to know if 3-4 guys are making some noise on the right flank... perfect time for me to sneek around the left. I feel completely blind with no sense of purpose (other than shoot what moves) in hardcore.
I'd like to see some debates on why y'all think certain modes are better.
Soundoff: Hardcore or Regular mode???
