Home security system where you can do lights, system, even video from iphone and whatnot...

Anyone have it? How much/month?

Looks pretty sweet.

Skip doing it with ADT and just set up that stuff yourself. The features you are attracted to don't have to have a monthly fee attached to it.

Get yourself a network connected DVR and install as many cameras as it can handle. I've installed different quality levels of those and almost all of them will allow you to view the cameras on your iPhone or Android device.

Not sure on the lights, never did that kind of stuff, but I know that there are plenty of things you can buy that will let you do home automation.

It may be a little more hassle up front, but you'll save mucho $$$ in the long run.

I have the ADT pulse... I like it... Tip you can buy the zwave light swtiches at lowes and add them your self

I phone app and web portal are a plus as well. I don have the cameras because my wife and i didnt see a need at the moment. our energy bill is lower as well because i can manage my thermostat remotely as well.

Thanks! what is the monthly cost of Pulse...I don't see using the cameras either right now so probably could use a basic package. Website won't tell me without talking to a rep and waiting to do that

I almost signed up for ADT. I think the $500 plus to get a wireless system alone is ridiculous.

$500 is not the end of the world (spare me the "lol poors" comments).

I just don't see why I should have to pay that much for a panel a couple doors and windows and a motion detector.

Monthly cost is abbot $44. Installation was just about a grand.
Took the installer 3-4 hours. It's easy to expand the system and program everything. I like it. Its expensive but we can add more to the system later if we decide to
