I'm gonna go ahead and be bold and start this thread. I'm about 90% certain I'm buying it at release. I still then have 30 days to decide whether or not something else is going to be better.

Looks like it is going to be launching around the 14th of February at $149. Saw the 14th on a few sites and forums from people claiming to work at AT&T as well as other sources. The $149 showed up on Amazon. Could be $199 in AT&T stores. $599 with no contract.

Hopefully I have one in 2 weeks. It should be a beast of a phone.

Love it! Too bad AT&T is the carrier. Hope Sprint has a nice summer treat for us early EVO users.

I don't have any problem with coverage with my Aria. My GF on Sprint has more drops than me. I guess I'm an anomaly.

What's the story on rooting this bad boy? I had heard murmurs of Motorola locking their phones to prevent people from rooting.

That is my only concern. I'm doing my research, I'll let you know.

Engadget had a leak about the multimedia dock today. $50-60.

The Bionic only has 512MB of ram and has no fingerprint reader, it does have a bigger screen though.

I'm not trying to be ignorant, but I haven't really done much research regarding Android devices.

I have an upgrade coming up, which I'm currently holding for the likely release of the iPhone 5 this summer. Yet, there has been so much buzz about this phone I'm interested.

I know tons of people would tell me to get this over the iPhone based on the OS alone. I'm looking for reasons beyond that to see if this phone is really worth it. With these specs, what will I be able to do with this phone that I won't be able to do with other higher end phones?

Just curious what is getting everyone so hyped up.

I'm an iPhone guy but this may be the device that changes me. Especially if the laptop port is bundled with the phone for, according to one site, around $300. That is insanely awesome.

My friend who is an AT&T rep and iphone user is actually switching to this phone...must be pretty good.

Ultimate fail with how they are handling the laptop dock. You can get it for an extra $300 only if you sign up for the bull**** tethering plan. Man, **** AT&T. Not only is it ridiculous to pay $300 for a screen, keyboard, trackpad, and battery. But the only way to get it for that price is if you get an expensive data plan and you have to do a mail in rebate?! You gotta be kidding...

Massive fail by AT&T.

They want to either lock you into a ridiculously expensive plan, or sell you a netboook for $500 with no processor. That is right, a $300 dollar computer, that doesn't work by itself, for only $500. Oh yeah, the expensive plan includes tethering, but you are buying a laptop that integrates with the phone SO YOU WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO TETHER!

I hope this changes, because that phone was AT&Ts only real chance to keep me off of Verizon.

You mean....***GASP***.... Android phone manufacturers are locking people out of their devices. I thought Andriod was so great because it was open source....they would never do something to make more profits....only Apple would do that.

If something doesn't change fast. I'm thinking I'm out in regards to this phone. No phone is worth sacrificing my principles supporting a company that tries to manipulate the market like this.

Really? You have no idea what you are talking about. Android is open and always will be.

Motorola, totally independent of Google, locked the bootloader so only Moto based roms can be loaded on the phone. This doesn't mean you can't root your phone, doesn't even mean you can't put a custom ROM on your phone, just means it has to be based off of Moto's platform that they have "optimized" for their hardware.

A little "glass domeish" but nowhere near Apple's level. Please leave the iOS out of this anyway.

Actually, the entertainment kit bit doesn't seem too bad. But let's be real, the laptop accessory was the driving force behind this tech.
