How long do you want to ignore this user?
I just got Black Ops yesterday. Upon inserting into my PS3 an update prompt came up so I went through the mini wizard and it restaRted so I could begin playing. The audio sounds fine throughout the intro scenes and menus in Black Ops but as soon as I start the campaign the audio is laced with terrible static. It completely ruins the experience.

I tried a movie and another game to see if the update gave me bad firmware but the audio was fine with those. It's obviously not a hardware issue. Could the actual game disk be bad? Any ideas?

I really want to play this game but can't take the static. If it matters (and I don't think it does), the PS3 is hooked up directly to the TV via HDMI.

And now the static is gone. Odd- I didn't do anything to fix it.

How do you mute the conversations going on with online players? I don't like my son having to listen to the inappropriate language that's used among the players using their headsets.

while in a game just hit pause and go to options. under options you can turn the gameplay sound up and turn all of the mic sounds down. or you can go through and mute players individually by hitting select and then depending on what system you are playing on just toggle the mute on and off for each player
