I'm starting to get excited about the next couple of months. There will be a lot of good choices out there.

Yep. February will be a tablet lover's dream come true.

Can't wait to see what hp/palm have coming.
Also, isn't the Ipad2 announcement supposed to be in Feb?

WebOS is a fabulous platform and really sets itself up well as a tablet OS.

Howevah... the API and support for developers is currently lacking (no services to use mic or camera, for example) so consequently the app store is pretty thin when compared to Andriod and iOS.

May want to have the LG G-Slate also under consideration if the 3D display rumor is true...

...with that said. There are about 10 solid tablets that are coming out in 2011. The majority will run Android. If you already have an Android phone, consider looking at an Android tablet as you don't have to pay for an app again. I would hate to get a WebOS tablet (even though nice) and have to pay for my Slingbox app again! ($30)

Acer, Asus, Vizio, Motorola, Samsung and HTC are all about to let 7"-10" tablets into the wild.

I have a 7" 1st get Asus right now. It is nice. Runs Android 2.2 but has the last generation chipset so it is not as zippy as some of the ones I saw at CES.

If you are considering getting a tablet and using it as an e-reader, make sure you consider size. Personally, the 7" form factor is PERFECT for a reader. The larger and boxier iPad was too bulky to be comfortable to me.

I love the fact my birthday is in March. I don't really want to buy a tablet with a contract.

Agreed, I want a wifi only tablet with no contract.

What tablets are coming with contracts?

Personally I'm seriously considering an iPad2 but waiting to see final specs when it's released.

Check out this walkthrough of Android 3.0 on the Xoom from the Verizon CES Keynote.

Rumor has it that a wifi-only version may be released a month or two after the Verizon version launches this quarter...

For me, it'll probably either be the Xoom or the Notion Ink Adam.

Ouch...engadget came out with a leak today....the Xoom is going to cost $800 it looks like without any kind of contract.

How can they justify that for what is essentially a consumption device? Now I am hoping the HP/Palm Tablet will come out cheaper. I can get a nice new laptop for $800.

$800 = DOA for the xoom. Especially if on Verizon with already cheaper iPad.

Bad call Moto...

Wow. $800? I was hoping for a ~$500 price point.

I also would like to get my hands on one to try it out. The videos of te honeycomb OS look great but the Xoom form factor appeared to be a little l a g g y with the hand gesture movements compared to the iPad. That to me is a huge part of the user experience.

It'll get cheaper. The galaxy tab did. They should have followed apple's lead and priced it where they wanted it instead of punishing early adopters. Although it is in line with the 32gig 3g ipad.

I wonder what it will be for wifi only or subsidized...

I still want one pretty bad.

I've read that the iPad 2 will be released in April, keeping with Apple's yearly hardware cycle. Sorry, no link. Don't remember where I read it.

What are the limitations of a rooted nook? Besides the 1st gen processor (like my archos 7)

No HDMI out, no bluetooth (yet I think)... I believe the unit itself is pretty sound/solid it just wasnt, from a 'ports' standpoint, accessorized like a tablet...

I still almost picked one up, mastercard marketplace had a 50% off through statement credit for one, but I missed it.

$700 off-contact. And I very there'll be a subsidized price around $300-$400.
