York was arrested Sunday morning at a mobile home community in East Palestine, Ohio, and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He was sentenced to one day in jail for both offenses to be served concurrently and was credited with one day served when he pleaded no contest Monday morning. He also was fined $1,150.

Court records show that York initially was charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended that to disorderly conduct. Records also show that York had a cellphone returned to him and that $160 that was seized was to be given to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force as part of the plea agreement.

Got to love the punishment, too. Suspended jail sentences, $1,150 fine + the $160 he was going to spend on the hooker. Guy thought he was going to pay to get screwed, and he was exactly right.

Asa a 49ers fan, I hope Jed York's embarrassment of the franchise accelerates him to sell the team. The NFL is expected to suspend and fine York. In a case that isn't linked to football operations, it's highly unlikely the team would be forced to give up draft picks. The larger question is how will Denise DeBartolo York and Dr. John York react to this development?

Looking at this from a human perspective, Jed's parents built this role for him, and he has now proven unworthy of it. Every day they see someone else in the CEO chair will be a reminder of how that ended. Jed is spiraling, and the family has already absorbed a tragedy: his brother died by suicide in 2018. His twin sisters, meanwhile, are involved in the 49ers charity and run a winery. The Yorks may decide it's best to move on from football and pivot.
