That's your ballgame. The horns flat out got dominated on both lines of scrimmage. Fortunate for them that they got a defensive TD to tighten what otherwise was a spanking. The better team won.

C Benson: 13 rushes for 27 yds
S Young: 3 rushes for 2 yds

Cobbs: 20 rushes for 115 yds, 1TD
Jones: 12 rushes for 102 yds, 1TD

Absolutely the running game was the difference. When is Benson going to have a big game in a big game?

I was surprised to see how much Arkansas dominated both sides of the ball in the game with Texas. I am not going to look over at the horns website to see the nonsense being thrown around, but I fear Chance Mock is going to take the brunt of the criticism. I don't think it was Mock's fault they lost - it was the ineffectiveness of Texas' OL and DL units who should be shamed, though it does not hurt to have a QB like the one the Pigs have to run the offensive team.

I agree Mock is not to blame, in fact, I thought he played reasonably well. 250 some odd yards is not bad against a decent pig secondary, even if more than half of that was the result of Roy's and BJ's running.

However, he has played zip in the last two years and you don't prepare a QB by sitting him on the bench. I don't know whether Brown sold his soul to Chris Simms and his dad and played him all the time last year for draft puffing and awards -- thus not giving Mock a chance to play some of the patsies on the schedule (UNT, Tulane, and Baylor at a minimum). He should have played between 5 and 7 quarters in those games.

Arkansas exploited the one strength it had on the O-line and created huge gaping holes. Cobbs' big TD after the Texas fumble was a metaphor for the entire game. Texas' defense is fast, but Arkansas didn't seem to care as they ran all the way to next week with the running attack. That QB Jones is a good physical package. That misdirection play he ran was a smart move by the Arkansas coaching staff to neutralize Texas' lateral speed.

A lot of Texas fans were saying they gained nothing with a win over Arkansas. I don't think they ever took the Hogs seriously.

K-State's and OU's advance scouts must be pouring over the videotape of the game.
