Howdy. I'm looking for advice moving into a new industry. I have an Ag Engineering degree and about 5 years of experience in the equipment industry. Looking to move into construction and work for a General Contractor. I'm in the North Dallas/Plano area.

My understanding is that the most common career path is Project Engineer -> Assistant Project Manager -> Management. Is this true for all companies in the industry, regardless of size?

Is it best to stick with looking for entry-level positions, or can I realistically leverage my experience into a Senior Engineer or APM role?

Any other advice for switching industries and looking for a fresh start in general?

Hello,

I operate a very large industry and looking to employ some more project manager, supervisor but still got other positions depending on your job experience and qualifications, perhaps we should further discuss about your ideas and vision, lets get over the phone or email, or you should send a dm directly.

Thanks
