Ags, not sure if this is the right section.

Quick facts: Started a small business with a colleague. Primarily Test and Balance but also Engineering in the construction industry.

He is doing field work full time. Business is growing but can't support his mortgage yet. I am still at my 9-5.

The ASK: I'm looking for work I can do to get some cashflow into the business, our current main client pays very slow (120+ days after invoice).

Sooo.. If you know any business' or people looking for following, please feel free to let me know: 3D Modeling & Rendering, 2D drawings (floorplans, product drawings), Full MEP Engineering and Drawing sets. (up late tonight doing edits to a remodel floorplan in reply to comments back from the city)

Edit: also have experience with 3D printing and programming CNC. Solidworks, Fusion 360, QCAD, AutoCAD

Interesting fact: I did all the modeling for our Senior Design Project (lunar lander)....

Unsolicited advice from a Small business as well. Open 20 years this year...

I would first suggest going back to your main client and tell them you are a small business and can't be their bank.
Net 120 Days is loony tunes and you can probably never survive as a company on those terms.

We will never go over Net30 with ANY company and the two we did, are large corporations who pay by ACH and also offer 2% 20 Days, Net 45 and I get to choose when they pay early and a sliding discount level or I can choose to wait the full 45 days. Another option is to let them pay by credit card and add the 3% to the invoice, tell them they can pay it or just add it in to your costs.

If you are good at what you do, then you will find other companies that will value you and pay you a in a timely manner. I realize it is fun to dream about working with the GEs of the world and how much work they will bring you, but in reality, in my experience, the ultra-large companies that do this to vendors will also drop you in a second.

Cash flow is king in a small business, even more important that making a profit for the first few years.
