I am looking to leave law enforcement and start a career in environmental consulting. I have 7 years' experience with state and federal environmental policy/regulation, almost 5 years of that are conservation law enforcement. I have an BS in RPTS with focus on parks and conservation.
I am looking to connect with anyone in this field to get a better idea of how my skills in investigations, stakeholder engagement, and environmental law match up with a career in consulting. I have started to familiarize myself with NEPA/FERC processes, but lack experience in them specifically. I do have experience in detailed report writing for prosecuting environmental crimes at both the State and federal levels. I am looking at getting my CAPM just to show that I have basic project management skills.
Finally, I am in the Greater Houston area and would like to stay here. Thanks for any advice and if anyone local is willing to connect in person I would be grateful.
