I am looking to bring on an an entry-level, full-time environmental technician to assist with field and office work based in the Rosenberg Office.
I'm using part of our job-posting from Linked-In and WFSC job board - apologies for the repetitiveness.
This job can be a great fit for students who graduated with a general Ag degree, but have a lot of "outdoors" knowledge or experience, Wildlife and Fisheries degree, Entomology (WHOOP! c/o 07), or other Natural Resources type field. Yes, Environmental Science degree graduates are also welcome!
Job Duties: Waters of the U.S. delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and surveys, bird counts, mortality surveys, water and soil sampling, data collection, reviewing literature, report preparation, GPS/GIS/Google Earth mapping, coastal marine ecology duties, and general report writing/prep.
We are a small (less than 15 employees), efficient, and flexible company - so upward movement is highly encouraged and self-starters are sought after.
Education: A BS degree in a relevant natural resource field (e.g., biology, fisheries, wildlife, ecology, chemistry, water quality, other) along any experience working on the Texas/Gulf Coast is preferred.
Experience: No experience is required. However, preference will be given to candidates with additional practical experience (knowledge of local flora & fauna, boating experience, outdoor activities or hobbies)
Compensation: The position is based on someone with no experience, and pay is entry-level but can be negotiated. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, 401k and 529 plans, health, dental, and vision insurance, health savings account, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, discretionary bonuses, and equipment stipends.
Application: Please send cover letter, resume, and professional references to ABoswell@CompassENVS.com. No phone calls please.
