SMR Gulf Coast is seeking candidates for a Territory Account Manager Trainee. This position will initially be located in Houston, TX where the trainee will work for a defined period of time in our corporate office acquiring product knowledge and learning commercial processes. Upon successful completion of the training program, the ideal candidate will relocate back to Southeastern Louisiana and manage a territory that includes Lake Charles/Sulphur, LA and Beaumont, TX.

SMR Gulf Coast is an Electrical Manufacturer's Representative organization with coverage across Texas, Eastern New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Our headquarters is based in Houston, Texas and we currently employ thirty personnel throughout our coverage areas.

Responsibilities as a Territory Account Manager include fostering client relationships, marketing & business development, technical sales & support, application assistance, channel partner development & management, and project quotations & management.

Qualified candidates will have a basic understanding of mechanical & electrical fundamentals, general knowledge of business principles & transactions, strong written, interpersonal, & presentation communication skills, and be a self-starter who is able to work proactively in a dynamic environment.

For candidates without applicable prior experience or who are recent college graduates, we provide a structured training program which requires working out of our Houston headquarters for a defined time period for training as well as occasional travel to our manufacturer's facilities throughout the United States. Upon completion of the training program, travel is limited to occasional overnight trips within an assigned territory.
Territory Account Managers are responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining business within their respective assigned territories and should be able to work independently while coordinating plans & activities with the Regional Sales Managers of our manufacturers.
