Company is making a big bet on humanocracy saying that it will unleash our human potential. Mgmt is using general descriptions like 'it will be great', 'everyone will love it' etc….

Anyone have experience? Is this the new flavour of the month?

Never heard of it so looked it up. Looks like the idea i to limit bureaucracy and rule heavy management systems. On the surface sounds interesting. I'd have to read into it for more detail.

https://www.humanocracy.com/

From their site:

Quote:

In the age of upheaval, top-down power structures and rule-choked management systems are a liability. They crush creativity and stifle initiative. As leaders, employees, investors and citizens, we deserve better. We need organizations that are bold, entrepreneurial and as nimble as change itself. Hence this book.

In Humanocracy, Gary Hamel and Michele Zanini make a passionate, data-driven argument for excising bureaucracy and replacing it with something better. Drawing on more than a decade of research, and packed with practical examples, Humanocracy lays out a detailed blueprint for creating organizations that are as inspired and ingenious as the human beings inside them.

I guess I need to read the book. What I see online and LinkedIn seems kind of hokey, but I like the concept.

I can't dismiss it either because bureaucracy and management usually involves people who produce nothing measurable, create unnecessary hurdles, and generally are incompetent.

Anyone have a substantive summary available?

Based on my experience of the second paragraph, I'd still be willing to give an alternative a shot. I'd say based on how business is run in todays world, it's possible this idea is a new necessity.

I'd say to the OP that it may be something worth seeing. The fact that a company is even attempting something different is a huge plus in my opinion, even without fully understanding the details of humanocracy . Having dealt with "the olds" or "boomers", I'm confident in saying the status quo is going to be tough to change.

Sounds very synergetic. I say put a pin in it. Reallocate the upper matrix of holistic collaborative regeneration and circle back at a more congruent juncture.

It's actually a divergent meta which maximizes human capital via transcendent archetypes, resulting in a new paradigm for industry-leading organizational upheaval.

That, or it's total FotM BS.
