Retired about 2 1/2 years ago and looking to get out of the house and do something a couple days a week. Very good handyman and have been a delivery driver over the last couple years. Recently moved to Katy and just looking to get out a couple days a week to make some gambling money! Lol. TIA

There are bbq shops all over Katy. Probably does not pay a lot.

Drive for Uber. Pretty easy to make a few hundred per week and get out of the house.

Don't have the right vehicle for Uber or Lyft.

I'm sure places like Lowe's or Home Depot are always needing people like you. Or maybe the Ace Hardware on S. Mason. Smaller store and more personal service than the first two.

All of the local Ace stores are great. I'm partial to the Ace/Katy Hardware off Pin Oak. Anglers Anonymous is kind of the same laid back vibe, just salt water fishing focused vs hardware.

Handyman service is a great way to make some money . You can set your own schedule too. I hire handymen types all the time for things customers want me to do that I don't normally do like pressure washing a fence, staining, and typically storm damage items that aren't the roof. If you have general liability, I'll hire for it. There are probably a lot of roofers that do that so you can get some easy gigs that you don't need to seek out.

My dad retired and eventually went to work for ACE (or is it now Tru-Value?) in Kingwood.

Seems like ACE et.al. are good places for relatively handy retired people.

If this is to just get out of the house and make some pocket money, find a w-2. I agree you could be a handyman, but then you have insurance, callbacks, etc. With a w-2 job, you show up on time and leave on time.

My retired neighbor drives the school bus. He seems to enjoy it.
