Is Testmasters the recommended PE Exam review class, or does anyone have experience with others? Specifically, looking at online ones. I know Testmasters has an online class, but PPI has a "Live Online" class, where it is online, but through a webcam where you have actual access to an instructor.

Has anyone done the DFW Testmasters class? If so, where is it located?

I took the Testmasters classroom course and did very well on the PE. I have a few buddies who took the local ASCE review course (1/4 the price of Testmasters) and did well on the test. I do not know of any acquaintances who have taken the PPI review course.

I did get my hands on a few of the PPI study problem booklets and thought the problems were overly complicated (about 40% were in metric units, problems took a lot longer than 6 minutes to solve, etc).

I used test masters as well. I did not even consider other options. Most PEs I know around my age went to the DFW test masters. It's worth it. I found myself more focused in the classroom than I would have been with an online course.

I am taking EET's online. They're binders and CERM are all I think I will need.

Did Testmasters 2 years ago! Employer paid for everything. Passed.

The take home problems they give you are way harder than what's on the actual PE exam. If you can time manage well on the exam, that's half the battle.

I am mechanical, but unused ppi. I bought the online pre-recorded tutorial videos and practice problem books. Did just fine on the exam, passed no sweat. The pre-recorded videos did a really good job prepping me for the exam.

Testmasters was great. 10 years ago, the class was off of loop 12 near 35E.

Never saw PPI so I can't compare the two, but I took Testmasters through video teleconference offered by my employer and passed. The materials they give you to take into the test are great.

Did test masters 2 years ago, highly recommend the class. It was near Preston and 635.

Registered for Testmasters... $1800. Expensive, but probably worth it.

Thanks for the advice.

One other thing. I did ask the four people around me at the Testmasters course if they were a repeat customer. Ironically, all 4 said they had taken the course multiple times, but after three classes you could see why they failed the PE exam multiple times. They either stopped showing, were horrid at time management, or were way too old to remember stuff they learned in college (late 40s/early 50s).

Take the course, do the homework, manage your time during the exam...pass...profit!

I wouldn't have passed without Testmasters.

Some advice I can give;
Break the testmasters binder up into smaller sections for the test
make sure you have a formula sheet at the front of each section
Take and use earplugs during the exam - I took mine in Austin and they had a something going on downstairs that was playing loud music.

Good luck.
