How long do you want to ignore this user?
I know that there are a few on here that post frequently and I am looking for some advice on how to select a recruiter. I recently finished up my masters degree and feel that by enlisting a recruiter I can get better jobs than what I am seeing/applying for. Any help would be much appreciated.

You dont hire a recruiter, a recruiter is paid a fee by the client for placing a candidate (you). You should google recruitment agencies that specialize in placing candidates in your industry with your background. Also Linkedin will be a helpful took for finding recruiters that specialize in your background.

Always remember that recruiters are just a small piece of the puzzle when looking for a job. Some people like to go all on with recruiters and get mad when a recruiter cant find them a job. Most of the job search should be done by you in regards to networking, applying online, Linkedin, meeting with hiring managers etc.

Good luck!

I personally don't like recruiters. I much prefer speaking directly with the company rather than have someone speak at times on my behalf.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey! Recruiters can help if you don't personally know someone at the company you're applying to that can recommend you directly. I work in oil and gas recruiting and I would say that would be the #1 way to get a job before reaching out to other sources.

If you don't know someone, recruiters can help a lot (if you find a good one). Look for a company that specializes in the industry or job type you're looking for and ask if they work with students. If so they can be a huge help. Burnett Specialists are a great company and extremely personal and professional. Be very clear about what you want and don't be scared to be picky about what you want.

Recruiters are free to people looking for jobs. The company pays the recruiter.

Good luck!!

Most recruiters, assuming your qualified, will pass on a resume for FREE for an entry level position even if its a job they are not working on. It helps build good will with there client.
