I wanted to check if anyone works or knew someone who works at CP. I applied for a position over a month ago and my status says "Preliminary Review" and could use some help. Thanks.

Like I said, I think it is a good sign that they updated your status to preliminary review. If they aren't seriously looking at your application, it will just go straight to "No Longer Under Consideration." From what I've gathered, they don't actually have a specific position to fill and are just going to be hiring one or more landmen if COP likes the credentials. That might be good or bad (could be hiring more than one), but it should shed some light on why it is taking so long.

You're probably right. I've applied for multiple positions and some say that my application is no longer under review.
